Who we are
Namename is operated by Innovative Commerce B.V., established in the Netherlands. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at privacy@namename.com.
What we collect
- Account data — your name, email address and password, so you can sign in and manage your domains.
- Registration data — the contact details required by registries and ICANN to register a domain name in your name.
- Payment data — handled by our payment provider. We never store your full card details.
- Usage data — basic technical and diagnostic information such as device type and app version, used to keep the app working and secure.
Why we use it
We use your data to provide the service (registering, managing and trading domain names), to process payments, to comply with legal and registry obligations, and to prevent fraud and abuse. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share data only where it is necessary: with domain registries and registrars to complete a registration, with our payment provider to process a transaction, and with service providers who help us run the platform under a data processing agreement. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
Where we store it
Your data is stored on servers within the European Union. Where a transfer outside the EU is unavoidable, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. After you close your account we delete or anonymise your data, except where we are required to retain it — for example financial records, which we keep for seven years under Dutch tax law.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, export or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to processing. Email privacy@namename.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date above and notify you in the app or by email.
